Car Hire and the road to the Isle of Skye

The roads to the Isle of Skye are a pleasure to drive on, wide and empty with fantastic views.

Cross the Skye Bridge and head west through Broadford onto the A87. Follow the road for approximately 23 miles until you reach Sligachan. At Sligachan, turn left onto the A863 to Dunvegan. At roughly 1 mile before Dunvegan, turn left onto the road signposted for Glendale. This road branches right after about half a mile, (do not go straight on to Orbost) follow the road straight into Glendale - around 7 miles. You will pass Three Chimneys Restaurant, then Skye Silver on the way up the hill. As you come over the top of the hill, continue down into the Glen and turn left at the shop/post office, go past the shops for about 200 yards and Hamara Lodge is directly at the junction for Glendale Watermill.  The name 'Hamara Lodge' is on the white gate posts.
