The Guest book at Hill Cottage

We had a lovely stay at Hill Cottage and loved its rustic nature and the beautiful surroundings. The cottage lay-out is good considering its size. The children and dog loved the freedom they had around the place.

The midges are the only drawback - but that's Scotland for you!

Thank you for the most amazing stay ever. The weather was bright, sunny and hot every day - we just could not believe our luck (we even came back to London with a tan!!). The cottage is so beautiful and rustic...which was exactly what we needed for a break from the city. We will certainly be recommending it to our friends and family.

Thanks again for making our stay so glorious Libby

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hill Cottage. What a beautiful setting and the weather was quite good for the most part. Walks were lovely as was Tighnabruaich and the surrounding area. One of our favourite outings was to Lachlan castle and Inver cottage. It was rainy and cool but we warmed up by the fire and had a delicious dinner. A very cozy Scottish memory. We also loved Kintyre, and a delicious lunch at The Barn at Millcroft.

All in all, great memories of a wonderful place. Thank you.

After finding Hill Cottage on the HomeAway site on the Saturday evening we contacted Peter Rose on the Sunday morning and set off from Yorkshire! The cottage was exactly as described on the website-just what we were looking for. Glad we had a 4 x 4 for the approach track so we could park right outside. Fantastic location, secluded, peaceful, comfortable, clean and cosy with fabulous views. Quiet candle lit evenings by the roaring log fires and deep hot baths were the perfect end to our busy days. October was a perfect time to visit as the Autumn colours were stunning! There was lots to see and do in the local area with great walks straight outside the door and plenty of wonderful beaches and scenery just a short drive away. We loved it so much that we have already booked to go again in May and can't wait to see the surrounding area in a different season.

The cottage is beautiifull and the views stunning. We loved the old charm and log fires in the evenings and no one missed having electic, the boys wore them seleves ot exploring and the dog loved the stream near the shed to paddle in. The down side is the track its very steep in places and a long hike up with bags and as we didnt risk damaging the car so it was left safley in the layby, Definatly a place worth staying at for the peace and quite, next time we will bring the 4x4
