Journey by train or plane to the Deveron valley
Is the long drive from the south the only issue holding you back from a holiday in the Deveron Valley. There are many exiting and interesting travel options, should you really want to avoid the long drive from the South. Aberdeen and the most local Huntly stations are both served by direct Anglo / Scottish train services.
1. There is a 6 day weekly direct sleeper service operated by Scotrail from London Euston departing (around 2030) calling at intermediate stations via Watford, Birmingham, Crewe and Edinburgh, delivering you "bright and breezy" in Aberdeen (approx 40 miles away) for around (0800 hours) and a corresponding return evening service departing from Aberdeen (around 2200 hours) arriving London Kings Cross (around 0800 hours). 2. There is also a regular direct weekly service operated by GNER between Aberdeen, Edinburgh, York and London Kings Cross calling at intermediate stations via, Peterborough, Doncaster, Leeds, Newcastle.

To reduce the car journey further, it is practical to change trains at Aberdeen and travel through to Huntly where you can pick up your hire vehicle leaving a short pleasurable drive of less than 10 miles (20 minutes) to Deveron Cottages Huntly is the nearest railway station to Deveron Cottages
