Journey by train or plane to the Loch Caolisport, Argyll

Is the long journey from the south the only issue holding you back from a holiday in the Argyll & Bute region?

Option 1 - by Rail


Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations are served by direct Anglo / Scottish train services.

1. There†are regular (almost every hour) day trains between London Euston and Glasgow Central†between 0700 and 1800 hours (4/5 hours approx journey time)

Also....a†daily direct sleeper service operated by Scotrail from London Euston departing around (2345 hours) calling at intermediate stations via Watford, Birmingham, Crewe. Preston†delivering you "bright and breezy" in Glasgow Central†at (approx 0700 hours) and a corresponding return service departing from Glasgow Central†(approx 2345 hours) arriving London Euston at around 0700 hours).

2. There is also†a†regular service†operated by GNER from London Kings Cross calling at intermediate stations via Huntingdon, Peterborough, Doncaster, York, Newcastle to Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street (5 hours approx journey time)

Roads and Ferries


To the Loch Caolisport Argyll

To reach Loch Caolisport from Glasgow International Airport follow the M8 to the Erskine Bridge, cross this bridge and take the A82 westbound (left hand turn) and continue on the A82 to Tarbet then take the A83 towards Campbelltown. Follow this road passing through, Arrochar, Cairndow, Inverary to Lochgilphead

Leave Lochgilphead on the A83 in the direction of Campbeltown, turn right two miles after Ardrishaig onto the B8024 signposted Kilberry, turn right, five miles later onto the unclassified road signposted Ellary.

(approx 120 minutes minutes journey time from Glasgow)
