This National Trust for Scotland property dates back to the 19th century and achieved A-listing for its historical importance. The enchanting ground-floor property is bursting with character and history, perfect for a romantic break or for two friends to escape for a moment of peace. Step back in time as you enter this wonderful cottage, soaking up the traditional interior, classic features and charming décor, combined with contemporary amenities for your self-catered stay. Take a seat next to the crackling woodburning stove in the intimate setting of the sitting room, decorated with wooden flooring and a sloped ceiling, as you catch up with your loved ones over a cup of tea, or lose yourself in a captivating novel during a rainy afternoon.

Dining experiences can be enjoyed in this peaceful spot at the delightful dining table, or choose to use it as a space for an exciting night of board games. Prepare all your meals in the modest yet amply equipped kitchen, fitted with all the necessary amenities for a week-long stay. Unwind into your evening within the charming bedroom, finding original doorways, ample storage and a bedside light to create a snug setting to catch up on your rest. The property itself was built in the 19th century with four other crofts, tenanted by the four Gillies brothers, resting among the township of Bornesketaig, which is now populated with the ruins of the old church, well worth observing on a leisurely stroll. The village of Uig can be found just a short car journey away, boasting two local shops and pubs where you can stop for a quick shop and some tasty pub food, there’s also two charming independent businesses to visit, including Uig Pottery and Skye Brewery.

Embark on a mountain hike through the awe-inspiring peaks of the Cuillin Mountains, taking on various challenging walking and hiking trails, with climbing opportunities and incredible views to discover. Alternatively, find even more adventure at the Quiraing landslip, offering photo-worthy walks around tall cliffs, secluded plateaus and rocky peaks.
