Situated in a tranquil spot on the northern side of the Isle of Skye this idyllic Holiday Cottage offers a wonderful retreat for a couple or young family on the beautiful Isle of Skye.

This traditional little cottage has been decorated in a fresh, contemporary style that is evident as you enter through the front door. The lovely lounge has an open fire and a comfy sofa – the perfect spot to snuggle up and watch a family film in the evening after a day out in the fresh air. Next door, the immaculate little galley kitchen is superbly well-equipped for whipping up some simple meals. There is a handy foldaway table in the lounge. Also on the ground floor is the spacious master bedroom, with a king-size bed, and decorated in soft, relaxing blue tones, as well as the family bathroom, with a shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Upstairs on the first floor are two pretty single bedrooms with sloping ceilings, and between them a super little den for younger guests who will love having their own secret space to play in. Outside there is a large grassed area, along with a little bistro table for two where you can sit and take in the breathtaking views of the mountains over a glass of wine.

The island of Skye boasts a huge range of activities and attractions. Children and adults will love exploring dramatic Dunvegan Castle (29 miles) and its gorgeous gardens, and there are plenty of outdoor activities to try, from abseiling to kayaking – Whitewave, Skye’s outdoor centre, based at Kilmuir (28 miles), has activities suitable for all ages and abilities. Keen walkers will enjoy some superb routes, including the famous Old Man of Storr (20 miles) and also the Quiraing (9.5 miles) – a spectacular circular walk of 6.8 miles of dramatic scenery. Head to pretty Portree (14.5 miles), the island capital and enjoy a stroll around the shops and cafes, or head down to the harbour from where a number of boat trips are available to go and spot the impressive local wildlife, from dolphins and seals to white-tailed eagles and puffins.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
